I have been playing anagrams for years; windows 7 and Jaws; last Tuesday, my sounds vanished when playing anagrams; no alt n for notification, etc. how can this be fixed, or is there some program to download to make it work again or a setting to fix? While in internet explorer, hit alt t for tools, then o for internet options. You'll be in a multi page dialog box. Control tab to the advanced tab, then tab to the list of options and downarrow to a setting for Play System Sounds. If it's off, press space to turn it on, then tab to ok and hit enter. It also helps to put the zone in compatibility view. Alt t for the tools menu again, then arrow down to compatibility view settings and hit enter. There should be a button for adding the current site to compatibility view. If necessary, restart your computer. Let's see if this works.

Refresh the page and go back to your account settings and turn them on.
Refresh the page and you'll hear a dialogue asking you if you want to allow Media player.
You have to press alt N and say yes.
Now you should have sounds.
Try both methods.
